ABOUT OUR STUDENT PROGRAM
Mónika Horváth-Papp (December, 2013)
Of course, I immediately sent my CV with a short introduction to the noted email address, and was eagerly hoping for a positive response. Unlike to most other big companies, EAFA responded in no time, and asked me for patience until decision is made due to many applicants. Lucky enough, shortly after this email I was invited for personal interviews and after mastering them successfully I was granted the opportunity to try myself out as a Marketing & PR Trainee at AsiaCenter - China Brand Trade Center (CBTC) for two months, within the borders of EAFA.
My job tasks included nothing what someone would expect from typical intern job – I wasn’t sent to make coffee or to make copies, but I had to keep up with highly responsible tasks right from the beginning. Chinese media monitoring, translating and interpreting (in Hungarian, English, Chinese and German), relationship keeping with old customers and gaining new ones, as well as organizational works at big events (starting from CBTC local trade days to representing the company solely on an abroad trade fair) were everyday’s work. Due to the high demand for our company’s services inland as well as abroad, unexpected requests were ordinary. This was not only exciting and diverse, but sometimes also quite challenging. Thanks to good communication among colleagues, friendly supervisors and a general good mood in the office, it was always easy to stay positive.
For me, as a student of Sinology and little experience in office jobs, this was a great opportunity to gain insight into the workflow of an international trade company and combine my theoretical knowledge from university with new practical experience. I am very thankful for my bosses who hired me and for the colleagues for their constant help and patience. Without EAFA’s opportunity for such an internship my work experience would face a huge gap on my CV, and my mind would lack a very useful experience. I can only recommend for every fellow student to apply and try yourselves out at EAFA!"
"My story at the Eurasian Friendship Association (EAFA) dates back a few months, to the beginning of summer 2013, when one of my previous University professors posted a job and trainee application calling from EAFA on his social media network site

Jeszenka Boglárka ( December, 2013 )
After two semesters spent in China, right
before graduation I got scared because I
thought I would never find a job in Hungary.
EAFA to the rescue! I’ve been working as a
trainee at the marketing team of Asia Center,
CBTC (China Brand Trade Center) for more
than two months, and I have gained this
position through EAFA career program.
During my work I can exploit both my Chinese and English proficiency, by the task of media monitoring day by day I am more familiar with Chinese politics and economy, by the delegations and exhibitions I can get to know interesting businessmen and professionals, and there is room for development in the association that may even include a position in the Shanghai office of CBTC. With hardly two months of work experience they hired and trusted me. And this is only the beginning! If you can speak Chinese or you are strongly interested in China, if you want to try yourself in practice and be a member of a great team, take the advantage of EAFA and register!
